SAFA!
Sonic Arts For All!
Sonic Arts For All (SAFA!) is a new non-profit whose mission is to provide a fun, yet still rigorous, alternative to the traditional music classroom for the K-12 and special needs students of New York City and beyond. We utilize technology as the key component of our curriculum, providing professional digital music and recording equipment for our students to use at all our workshops, as well as consultation to families on how to utilize the technology found in many homes, such as tablets and PCs, to create music. As of December 2017, SAFA! has managed to provide programming to over two hundred students in both Brooklyn and Manhattan and obtained teaching residencies at Powrplnt, Kiddie Science, The Brooklyn College Center for Computer Music, IS 297, and others. Join us at SAFA! as we change the face of music education, one kid at a time!
SAFA! will work in partnership with community centers, arts and education institutions, and other non-profit organizations throughout the five boroughs to bring the message of music technology accessibility to the local community. SAFA! will provide a mobile music sanctuary for a new generation of artists.
